Shoes for my Dirk Strider cosplay are ready to go.
This was actually the hardest thing to find something that would work. I really wanted to go with his Squarewave shoes, but finding a pair of shoes that a) fit the style, and b) were in my size was pretty tough.
Got these, and they’re pretty nice and comfortable. I relaced them with white laces just to make them match more.
Meanwhile my cosplay partner colwag is picking up glasses off of the ground to use for his Jake English cosplay.
Sorry Not Sorry: The Vantases
at this point i stop caring about how dumb and nerdy this is and just go with it

Blood / Karkat / Knight / Kankri / Seer / Sufferer and Signless are from the MSPArt team.
you’ll never know what it says under kankri’s hahahahahAHAHAEdit: since people seem to actually like these imma tag em.
The Sufferer’s trap effects are a nice balance of “not a single person would ever use that effect” for the first one, and “so unspeakably broken it will be banned instantly” for the second.
Also, a quick-play trap card????
So, Act 6 has just surpassed Act 5 in terms of page count.
Act 5 began on page 3889, and ended on page 6010, a grand total of 2121 pages.
Act 6 began on page 6013, and is currently at page 8136, a total of 2123 pages.
It also recently surpassed Act 5 in terms of longevity, with Act 5 lasting 500 days, and Act 6 being 519 as of today.
Act 6 still has at least one more sub-act to go, plus any extra intermissions or act act acts he decides to add.
A long time ago, Hussie estimated Act 6 being much shorter than Act 5, and serving as the last “normal” act.

With Act 7 looming over the horizon, what are the odds of Hussie’s initial plan of it being an essential epilogue and being almost all flash coming to fruition? Probably not that good. He also recently estimated finishing Homestuck within this year, but given how bad he is at deadlines, this may very well end up bleeding into 2014. Who knows.
Anyway, happy 4/13 everyone.
Edit: So given the latest newspost (4/14), it looks like Hussie actually is pushing for A6A6 to mostly conclude the story.
Basically, the best part about going as a Homestuck character for Halloween is that if you’ve bought their shirt from WhatPumpkin already, you’re pretty much done. Though you have to work with what you got when you’re trying to manage Dirk’s nigh-impossible hairstyle. I am also going to maintain that the chintzy mirror-shot is totally in-line with Strider style, and thus totally in character.
These guys have some really good stuff if you’re in the market for absurd glasses that you won’t find in the store because not a single rational human being would wear this shit under normal circumstances.
